Istanbul has always been an outstanding travel destination. But beside adventurous voyagers who want to see Istanbul’s charm, there have also been lots of creative people who hoped Istanbul would inspire their artistic minds. Writers who took notes during their visits or those who created artworks influenced by their visits allow us to see Istanbul’s power on the imagination. Istanbul has its own legacy of Turkish writers, but there are lots of foreign writers who visited Istanbul and left there mark. Cinema is the mirror of the city. One of the best ways to familiarize with a city is cinema. İstanbul, with no doubt, is a city of cinema. It has been the main natural plateau of Turkish cinema since the end of 1930s. The first filming in İstanbul was made by a camera located on a boat throughout the golden horn.

Let me introduce you to Dialogue in the Dark, ‘’Karanlıkta Diyalog’’ in Turkish. I visited the exhibition four times, each time a different friend, therefore I finally decided to write about it. As you can guess, our topic will be about blindness. In Turkey, we unfortunately forget the existence of the people without the capability of seeing. Most municipalities don’t adequately build neither pavement nor crosswalks for disabled people. This event will make us to realise their struggles just to walk on the streets.
